Self-Destructing Messages
Sometimes you don’t want your messages to live forever. Maybe you have something secret you want to tell someone, or maybe it’s something time-sensitive. Or maybe you just don’t want to be trapped by the permanence of the digital age.
A November 15, 2020 article in Popular Science discussed "The best apps to send self-destructing messages". The article pointed out the disappearing message features of:
Gmail Confidential Mode
Telegram Messenger
Confide
Facebook Messenger
Snapchat
Instagram
WhatsApp
In addition to the features mentioned by Popular Science, there are web-sites that also provide self-destructing messages:

https://read-destroy.com/
https://safenote.co/
https://1ty.me/
https://temp.cool/
https://cloakmy.org/
https://privnote.com/#
https://tmwsd.ws/
https://www.destructingmessage.com/
https://quickforget.com/
https://www.intuitivepassword.com/en/Tools/OneTimeSecretNotes
Although all of these sites use SSL encryption to provide a reasonable layer of security, and some allow you to protect your messages with a password, these services aren’t really designed for sending highly valuable or confidential information and are more for sending simple or personal messages you don’t want to be stored on someone else’s computer or mail server. Obviously sending something to someone you don’t know or can’t trust isn’t advised because of the ease at which the text in the message can be copied by either cut and paste or a simple screenshot.
